EPL: Surprise name has emerged as the replacement for Rangnick at Manchester United

Paul Merson has instructed Manchester United to appoint Graham Potter, the current manager of Brighton, as their new manager.

Despite the fact that Ralf Rangnick has taken over at Old Trafford from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the former Arsenal star does not believe anything he is doing there. He claims that nothing has changed since the German took over from the Norwegian.

The former England winger is perplexed as to why English managers are not given the opportunity to take over at major Premier League clubs.

“Manchester United are missing a trick by not paying attention to Graham Potter – and the rest of the Premier League is, too,” Merson wrote in his Daily Star opinion column.

The chairman of Manchester United, however, stated that it would be difficult for the club to appoint the Englishman as their next manager.

“It’s almost as if English managers don’t exist for the big clubs, and as a result, they’re rarely given a shot at the big jobs.”

“Ralf Rangnick does not inspire confidence in me at all. He’s walked in and everyone is talking about him as if he’s the one who invented football and is some sort of genius.

“United are just as bad as they were under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer!” says the critic. Is there any difference between now and then? “Let’s be honest about this,” he said.
